Ula’Ula was originally formed by Jeff Silva in Kona, Hawaii. In 2019, Josh and Casey bought in with one goal in mind, get the most superior fish to the market, quickly, with traceability to the source like never seen before.
The age old saying “A picture is worth 1000 words” is true. Every individual fish Ula’Ula sells, includes a picture of the fish, with the fisherman that hooked it, as well as the date, time, and position caught.
You may recognize Josh Harris and Casey McManus as the Captains of the Cornelia Marie, from Discovery Channels hit TV show “Deadliest Catch”, and Jeff Silva as the added star in the new series “Deadliest Catch: Bloodlines”
If you want to see these guys in action, watch Discovery channel on Tuesdays to see how your seafood is harvested between Alaska and Hawai'i.
"It takes a village" is an under statement. There are so many people in our small Hawaiian community that make it possible for us to operate, and we are grateful for all they help they give us. Unfortunately, Covid-19 virus has made it very difficult to continue to operate as a normal business, so we have changed our approach. Ula'Ula fish company is donating its catch, and time along with Chef Erik and Chef Muzzy, and Kona Brewing Co. to turn Ula'Ula fish into finished meals for those who have fallen upon tough times in this Corona virus economy.
